The Blues did a similar discount ticket thing last Spring. It was like $11 upper deck and $25 lower bowl. It enraged season ticket holders who in some cases paid 3 or 4 times as much, and I'm sure without the Blues run last year it would have cost the organization.

Fantastic writeup. You really did a great job with this, illustrating why such a heavy discount promotion won't pay off for the 'Yotes. Especially the points on season ticket holders and lying to potential new customers. Because once it goes back up, they'll be out the door.

Interesting comp with Ottawa and the location. But isn't it easier to attract diehard puckers in a colder hockey town? Phoenix is located in the Desert and there's more to do. Maybe that also explains it.

Sadly if the Oilers don't show some fight, they'll be planning early golf trips to watch the Coyotes in the post season.

Great read!

it's sad we'll never have these kind promotions for Leafs games. $180 for a lower bowl seat and free booze and food damn that's a Leafs fan's dream. Time to ship the team out of Phoenix, Bettman still thinks the team can survive there because he's to proud to admit it was a mistake putting a team there in the first place. Was the Winnipeg Jets attendance even near as bad as the attendance for Coyotes games? I think not.
