It's kind of interesting that by YOUR definition only men can be real hockey fans. Now that's laughable. And if you knew how to read, you also would have learned by now that this site is about hockey culture AND my experience as a fan. Sounds like I'm living the life you wish you were. Claiming to understand the game with such great prowess when you've never actually played the game at a high level is ironic. You can watch from the stands or on TV, know all the stats (hell, I know almost nothing about the up-to-date stats), and read all the interviews with players but... I'm sorry... you still don't understand the game. Lace up, fight through the ranks, sweat the BS in any (*every*) league, and find a regular spot with a team and you can put these guys down who play in Europe or the O or the EC or even Manitoba Men's League. Until then, well, you're pretending. To earn ONE DOLLAR to play the sport -- or to be selected to join a squad at any level -- is an accomplishment and deserves respect. I've earned a few, and still enjoy watching all of the talented players who have not. You'll find those guys at the local rinks, playing for the love of the game.
