Wow... you sure told me! And as someone who knows so much about hockey, you sure do waste a lot of time reading a website that fails to live up to your expectations of a real hockey fan. It's kind of interesting that by YOUR definition only men can be real hockey fans. Now that's laughable. And if you knew how to read, you also would have learned by now that this site is about hockey culture AND my experience as a fan. Sounds like I'm living the life you wish you were. Enjoy the beer league, buddy!

Okay, so let's see... based on this article we are to interpret that you're a puck bunny, but a puck bunny with standards?

Claiming to understand the game with such great prowess when you've never actually played the game at a high level is ironic. You can watch from the stands or on TV, know all the stats (hell, I know almost nothing about the up-to-date stats), and read all the interviews with players but... I'm sorry... you still don't understand the game.

Lace up, fight through the ranks, sweat the BS in any (*every*) league, and find a regular spot with a team and you can put these guys down who play in Europe or the O or the EC or even Manitoba Men's League. Until then, well, you're pretending. To earn ONE DOLLAR to play the sport -- or to be selected to join a squad at any level -- is an accomplishment and deserves respect.

I've earned a few, and still enjoy watching all of the talented players who have not. You'll find those guys at the local rinks, playing for the love of the game. A love you profess to have but which I can see only a smattering of evidence of on this blog.

The beautiful thing about hockey is it's a very nuanced game. And while pro players assuredly appreciate your youthful fandom, your assertions as to any professorial expertise are cute, but laughable.

I wish I had taken up hockey in my youth.

Alas, though it's funny people pretend to be hockey players though.

It's all about being yourself and letting the cards fall.
