OHL Eastern Conference Finals Game #2: I love the way you scream my name!

St. Catharines, ON I was far less fired up for Game 2 after the disturbing barrage of cat calls and psycho chants from the IceDogs at Hershey Centre on Tuesday. The Demon Snatch was somewhat appeased as certain members of the club spent the better part of the off day trying to smooth over the whole thing. I tell you, younger men are a dangerous thing. They get away with so much shit just because you think it’s cute that they are still doing stupid shit to begin with. It’s like, “Aww how cute they actually think I’m buying this story.” But then you find this naivety so adorable that they actually end up getting away with everything! I haven’t quite decided if this is a good thing or a bad thing yet. Lethal for sure.

Anyway, the point is I wasn’t out for blood the way I was post-Colorado. After Colorado a steady, unwavering hatred burned for a very long time. Good news for the IceDogs! I even caught myself full on jumping-out-of-my-seat excited by certain scoring opportunities. Truthfully, I’d still like to see the IceDogs win it all, so that my Memorial Cup track record remains intact. I can’t really comment on the specifics of this track record right now. In fact I may have said too much already… Whatever. No offense to the Majors. We all know they are one of my former teams/loves, and I have loved me some Coach DILF Dave Cameron for the better part of 10 years now… Mmmm. But, come on, the Majors have a bye into the Mem Cup since they are the hosts this year. So, I really don’t feel bad about wanting to see them shut down this round.

Speaking of Coach DILF… I sat in on the post game presser. I can’t be sure what Dave Cameron said at all because I was too busy trying not to giggle like a school girl every time he opened his mouth to get all business-like and manly. SWOON. What can I say, I’m a coach bunny! I can tell you, though, that Head Coach Marty Williamson of the Niagara IceDogs absolutely killed it in there! Expect big things from him in the future!

Yes, the IceDogs evened up the series that night in a huge win to end the Majors epic win streak of, what was it, 19 games or something equally ridiculous? I now have a lot more confidence that the IceDogs can make it out of this round alive. The booty shorts were rallying for Niagara to win despite the creepy horror movie-like echos of, “Psssssyyyychoooooo” from the IceDogs as they did their dry land pre-gamer. It was kind of disturbing, but the perv in me kind of liked it – not gonna lie. Scream my name with a little more passion next time, champs! Apparently, I wasn’t hidden well enough and they needed to let me know that. Perhaps it was the fact that I didn’t consume tequila as my pre-game meal this time, or the fact that what was really going on was starting to become more and more transparent every time they opened their mouths to crow like some beastly things out of The Lord of the Flies or something, but I didn’t feel the need to awaken the DS. Either way, I’m contemplating having a bit of fun with these boy. We’ll see. Stay tuned for that.

On a happier note, I’d like to close off with one of the more heartwarming stories to come out of the Niagara IceDogs organization. You’ve probably run into several IceDogs volunteers working their butts off at “The Jack” to ensure that game day runs smoothly. You may have also encountered, Ray, a security volunteer with an epic beard that can put to shame a whole army of Billingsleys. He can usually be found guarding the players parking lot so that the majority of you common riffraff keep out LOL! Ray doesn’t just volunteer with the IceDogs, however, he also volunteers with a number of homeless shelters, and the Salvation Army. After games, Ray can often be found collecting the left over food from the concessions, which he then takes to the shelter to ensure that everyone gets something to eat that night. So, at Game 4 keep your eyes peeled for a guy with a big beard and an even bigger heart. If you’re feeling especially generous, I’m sure he’d appreciate some donations. Though I will say after my last visit, I think they are good for mac and cheese for a while. I loves me some COSTCO almost as much as some DILFy coaches!
